Man, it's astounding that this got approved. Cosplay? Terrific. The site? One of the worst I've ever fucking seen and there is A LOT of shit out there.
Mmmmmm, greater than Final Fantasy, Mario, Uncharted, Zelda, Mass Effect, Gran Turismo, Fallout, Bioshock, and more? It's insane to call one franchise the greatest. It should really be titled "One of the Greatest" or "Arguably the Greatest FPS Franchise Ever", as there are just way too many aspects in a franchise that are open to opinion to come out and say" No, no, no THIS right HERE is the best franchise E V E R".
That being said, I can...
Technically, no one should care. No one said a critic's opinion is the end-all-be-all. Hell, I'm a paid critic for WeGotThisCovered and I never put my opinion over anyone's. Look, the fact of the matter is that Bungie said no to day 1 reviews -- no biggie, who cares. Surely, the game's massive, right? Well, turns out it was a 5.5 hour game (campaign-wise) w/ multiplayer and there's less modes and less maps than Killzone: Shadow Fall (and no, KZ is not better than Destiny) ...
Man, gamers are so unsatisfiable lolol When games are hyped like this and DO receive 9's and 10's, gamers are quick to burn down major publications for "money hats" and succumbing to the hype. Here's a case where critics were able to wait out the hype thanks to Bungie themselves (c'mon, Bungie, Destiny is NOT that big to warrant such a review delay) and they're burned at the stake for it. We've got to realize where critics and fellow gamers are coming from. I...
And to rdgneoz3, I whole-heartedly understand where you're coming from because in my review I do in fact call the endings a little shitty. However, that small, albeit significant, hour out of 30+ hours of excellent story telling with a relentlessly oppressive tone where I truly felt that there was no way in hell I was going to overcome this hurdle without major casualties does not completely ruin it. I also say that it's NOT a perfect game or story, but the 100 reflects a combination ...
I hate shoving scores down people's throats, never was my style -- I like what I like and people like what they like, what's the point in arguing over a score that neither party will change their mind on? lolol
I'm fine with a 7 being given and I understand why one would give it that, but all the hours I've invested into the franchise and to see closure on a franchise I love be done so perfectly (bar the shitty ending, mind you) was a thrilling, thrilling experience.
Hey, I'm the author of the piece and at RealViews we don't do averages, which is in similar form to IGN and GameTrailers as they don't either. The overall score is to reflect the combination of quality and how positive/negative an experience it was -- you know, a whole "the sum can be greater than its parts" kind of deal.
A lot of reviews neglected it so it's cool that this one doesn't
I agree that it's a glorified expansion pack, but only to a certain extent. Because of CoD's immense popularity, its criticisms are magnified by the thousands. What about Assassin's Creed: Revelations? Is that not just an expansion pack? Sequels -- especially CoD sequels -- are instant money for publishers/developers, so there's no way they'd drop the price, no matter how much we want them to
It's the KDL60W850 @ Best Buy. They don't have the 55" version, though
